Who usually attends therapy?
Anyone can attend therapy! The most common misconception surrounding therapy is that it is for people who have “problems” or those who are not well. Although therapy can be for these purposes, it is also used for those without any diagnosis as a preventative measure or to increase knowledge about yourself and the world around you.
Does my child need to have a diagnosis in order to particiapte in group therapy sessions?
There is no diagnosis required to attend groups. We match group members based on the demographic and medical history provided by the parent during the initial intake call.
Does Uzima Child & Family Therapy accept insurance?
We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield and Cigna insurance plans. For those who do not have an accepted insurance plan, we will be able to provide you with a statement that details the services provided and the associated costs. This statement can be submitted to your insurance company who may be able to provide reimbursement for your services. Please contact your health insurance provider to obtain information on what is included in your benefit plan.
How do I submit claims to my insurance company?
Every insurance company is different. It is best to contact your insurance company and ask them what protocol to follow when submitting to insurance.
How often can I or my child expect to attend sessions?
Therapy is an individualized experience. There is no set number of sessions per week as we want to tailor treatment to the person attending sessions. Your clinician will schedule what is clinically appropriate for your case and will discuss the plan with you throughout the therapeutic process.
How do I schedule an appointment?
